Acquamarina Brokerage House

A house, not a network

Deliberately small, deliberately independent, and deliberately on one side of the table — yours.

Acquamarina S.r.l. is an independent brokerage house registered in Milan, at Via del Lauro 9 — a short street in the centre of a city that has always understood how serious money should be handled: quietly, precisely, and with the client across the desk rather than at the end of a queue. From here we work the Mediterranean yacht market, representing buyers and owners of motor yachts and superyachts between roughly 15 and 40 metres.

We will not invent a heritage for this page. What we can state is how the firm is built and why: around personal representation instead of volume, around evidence instead of atmosphere, and around the belief that in transactions of this size, the client is owed judgement — including the judgement to say no. Everything else about Acquamarina follows from those choices.

What we believe

We believe the yacht market has an information problem dressed up as a marketing problem. There is no shortage of listings, photography or superlatives; there is a shortage of people who will tell a buyer what a boat is actually worth, what it will actually cost to own, and whether the paperwork actually says what the seller says it says. That gap is where Acquamarina works.

We believe independence is a structure, not a personality trait. A firm with no captive inventory, no shipyard allegiance and no fleet to fill can compare the entire market and reach conclusions a tied intermediary cannot afford to reach.

We believe selection beats abundance. Presenting forty yachts is easier than defending three; it is also less useful, and at this level the client's scarcest resource is not money but attention.

And we believe clarity is a form of respect. Large transactions do not fail for lack of enthusiasm; they fail — or quietly disappoint — for lack of understood detail. Our job is to make the detail understood before the commitment, not after it.

How we work

Personally. One person carries your file from first conversation to handover. "Brokerage House" on our door means exactly that: you engage a house, and the house answers — not a rotating cast, not a call centre with a marina view. In high-value transactions, accountability that cannot be located is accountability that does not exist.

Selectively. We take on the instructions and searches we can serve properly, and no more. A short client list is not a limitation of ambition; it is the operating condition for the standard of attention we consider non-negotiable.

On evidence. Every recommendation we make — a price, a boat, a walk-away — arrives with its reasoning and its documents attached. We expect our clients to challenge our conclusions, and we write them so they can be challenged.

Discreetly. We control information as a professional discipline: who learns what, and when, is part of every strategy we run. What passes between a client and this house stays between a client and this house.

The mark of the eighth post

Our mark is called the Keja — the Italian marina word for the mooring posts a boat is made fast to. It shows eight posts of different heights, the way you actually find them along a quay: weathered, uneven, each one holding a different boat's lines. One of the eight is orange.

The orange post is the client's. Amid a crowded, noisy market — a forest of masts and asking prices — our work is to find, or to prepare, the one place that is genuinely yours: the right yacht at the right price with the right papers, or the right buyer at the right moment. That is also why our colours leave the industry's navy-and-gold behind. Deep marine green and sand for the sea and the quay as they really look; warm white for clarity; signal orange for the single point that matters — yours.

Milan, and the sea

A yacht brokerage in Milan is less of a paradox than it sounds. The Mediterranean coast is where the boats lie; Milan is where a great many of their owners decide. This is the city of the deal examined before it is signed — of advisers, of numbers read twice — and it keeps us honest about what our work really is: not standing on pontoons, but standing between a client and an avoidable mistake. From Via del Lauro we are a short journey from Liguria and the Côte d'Azur, from Tuscany and Sardinia — and at our desk, we are exactly where the decisions are made.

In plain terms

If you are considering buying or selling a yacht between 15 and 40 metres, anywhere in the Mediterranean, we would like to hear what you have in mind. You will get a direct answer about whether and how we can help — and if we cannot, we will tell you that too, and try to point you somewhere useful. That, in the end, is the whole philosophy.
